Born Free in Orange County CA, hit its third year of existence and likely a pinnacle of regional bike show handiwork. Drama free, loaded with amazing bike after amazing bike and free to walk in. Vans and a crapload of small shops and manufacturers made that last part possible and gave the whole thing a vibe like no other show. The sheer variety of machines made for a great experience, too. Not a cookie cutter bike in the place. Classic Honda powered Diggers? Sure, lots of them and each a work of art.  Vintage two strokes? Oh yeh, even a trick moped or two. Killer Knuckle chops where everywhere and no two alike. Chopped Sporties and Cafe’s seemed to be the bike of choice as well.  Walked the same rows of bikes and saw something new each time. Thanks Born Free, we consider ourselves lucky to live and work in this bike mecca and appreciate you guys giving us a place to meet some great people and see their two wheeled creations.

The popular BMW F800GS sits at the top of the Adventure Touring segment and is more likely than most machines of this class to see hard touring and dirt under its wheels. With that in mind we created a shock specifically tuned to the needs of both rider and machine. Utilizing our proven 465 Series Monoshock, we’ve valved it, sprung it and tested the hell out of the shock until it transformed the ride of the small bore Beemers.

Progressive Suspension also added a Remote Adjustable Preload (RAP) that makes adjusting for a passenger or a weeks worth of gear a simple twist of the knob. The 46mm bore shock is also stuffed with features like deflective disc damping, threaded body and a 5 position rebound adjuster. Setting it up to perfectly match your bike, weight and riding style is now a few clicks away. Includes remote mounting bracket. Stock height and lowered applications for F800gs as well as other BMW models.

Check it out on our website, or contact your local Progressive Suspension dealer for more information.

Product Testing in Alaska – 465 Series Monoshock

Posted by on Jun 6, 2011 in New Products | Comments Off on Product Testing in Alaska – 465 Series Monoshock

Everything we build is tested in both a lab (on a shock dyno & other equipment) as well as the real world. Not just ridden around the block or handed a few hundred freeway miles, but tested in environments harsh enough to push even the bike they are intended to its brink. Our 465 Series monoshock is a platform, meaning we’ll use similar technology (although with unique spring rate, and damping curves) on a number of bikes, including theYamaha Star line, Suzuki V-Strom, Kawasaki KLR650 and BMW F800 as well as countless others. Testing like the above video is why we’re confident our shocks will make your bike a better machine and keep doing so, no matter what you throw at them.
